I recently went on a little shopping holiday to Melbourne, Australia. I spoilt myself with quite a bit of bargain shopping and managed to fit in a few luxury products as well. When I walked through the Myer cosmetic section I just had to make a stop at the Benefit counter, it’s just too pretty and pink to avoid. They had all their limited edition Benefit Christmas sets on display… how could I say no! I purchased the ‘primed for lovin’ best of benefit set for $69.00, which is actually a bargain considering the individual price of each product.

Product Reviews
They’re Real Mascara: Individual price $38.00
What Benefit say:
“They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts
& separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A
specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!”
What I say:
I love this mascara. It
really does define, lengthen and volumise my lashes. I use one coat for a
daytime look and I get extra-long and separated lashes. It noticeably opens up
my eyes. You can also build it up to get a real ‘falsies’ look. This mascara
has a rubber brush which I’m not used to but it’s so easy to use. It also has
tiny bristles on the top of the brush. You use this part vertically to separate
and define your lashes. This is a non-waterproof formula and it only comes in
black. I wish they had a brown, my lashes are so light and black can be a little intense. A little bit of product goes a long way, I
find if I use too much it can give a clumpy eyelash look. It wears incredibly well, I get no smudging
and it stays put all day.

They're Real one coat Versus no mascara (sorry about my tired bloodshot eyes)
High Beam luminescent
complexion enhancer: Individual Price $45.00
What Benefit say:
“Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek &
brow bones for a dewy, radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter over makeup or
wear under complexion products for subtle luminescence. It's the
"supermodel in a bottle!"
What I say:
If you want skin that
has a beautiful glow and looks natural and dewy, then this is a must. High beam
is a liquid highlighter that easily blends into the skin and would suit light
to medium skin tones. It gives a lovely sheen to my face without looking oily.
Just apply where you want a little bit of radiance for an instant ‘pick me up’.
I love this stuff because a little goes a long way. It’s not overly pigmented,
it is the perfect pearly-sheer pink. Its
effects are subtle but in certain lighting and when the sunlight hits, it’s
very luminising.

The Porefessional: Individual Price $53.00
What Benefit say:
“Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for
smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or
over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps
makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from
free radicals”.
What I say:
The Porefessional is a
primer designed to minimise the appearance of pores. I’ve read a lot of
positive reviews about the Porefessional, so I was rather excited to try it and
see if it worked for me. When you squeeze it out of the bottle it’s skin colour
but when you smooth it out it’s transparent. The product warms and melts into skin
upon application, making it smooth and easy to apply. I only apply a tiny
amount to the areas where my pores are most obvious and blend with my fingertips.
It results in such silky, velvety soft skin. It doesn’t totally erase pores but it
certainly does minimise them making them less noticeable. It has a
matte/powdery finish which makes it a great spot treatment for oily parts on your
skin. I love this product, it’s a fantastic primer giving you the illusion of
smoother looking skin.

SugarBomb Plush Gloss
$29 for full size
What Benefit say:
“Our new plush glosses glide on extra smooth and feel ahhh-mazingly
silky & luxurious. The six irresistible shades, from sultry nudes to punchy
pinks, come in soft-squeeze tubes with a custom tip designed for perfectly even
application”.
What I say:
Another lip gloss to
add to the collection. This one is a shimmering pinky nude with a faint fruity
scent. It’s a lovely subtle colour which contains a shimmer giving lips a
glossy shine for about an hour. It feels moisturising. Once it settles it
actually feels like I’m wearing a lip balm. It glides on smoothly and does not
have a sticky feeling. The deluxe sample size is a rather generous 6.5 mL which
will last me a while.

I’m really happy with the quality of these products. I love Benefit and can’t wait to try more of their fabulous products. Take a look at the Benefit website. It’s based in the US, however the Benefit prices over there are so much more affordable than the Australian prices. Plus if you spend $120.00 it’s free international shipping.
